Understanding ADHD in Adults

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects focus, behavior, and impulse control. Symptoms of ADHD usually appear before the age of 12, but they can persist into adulthood. As an adult, ADHD can affect your work, relationships, and daily life. If you find yourself rushing through tasks, losing focus, struggling to finish projects, or feeling restless, an evaluation can help identify if ADHD is the underlying cause.

What to Expect During Your ADHD Evaluation

First Appointment

The first appointment, conducted in-person, lasts about three hours. This session is designed to gather background information about your symptoms and how they’ve impacted your life. During this appointment, you will participate in various activities, complete questionnaires, and engage in other assessments.

Second Appointment

This appointment is conducted via telehealth and lasts about 50 minutes. We will review the report, discuss your diagnosis, and go over next steps and a treatment plan. A copy of the report will be sent to you after this appointment.
